Bodybuilders on show tonight at Cascadia
A competitive show is expected at tonight's National Junior Body-building Championship at the Cascadia Hotel, St Ann's from 7pm.
The event will feature a number of new talent as well as attempts by many to overthrow current champions in a number of categories such as Men's body-building, men's physique, bikini class, body fitness, women's physique which is likely to replace the women's body-building, and two new classes called classic body-building and bikini wellness.
T&T Body-building Federation president Suzanna Hadad said a large turn-out of young athletes is expected for the show. Bruce Allum, the defending champion in the men's body-building category will attempt to defend his title against an enthusiastic bunch.
Competition will take place in lightweight, middleweight, light heavy weight, welterweight and lightmiddle weight divisions. Cypriani Wallens, who competed successfully among the juniors will be returning for yet another time, Hadad told Guardian Media Sports.
Guest posers for the show will be Damian George and Dexter Simon, a fourth place finisher at the recent 52nd Asian Elite Body-building Championship in Mongolia, soon after he turned pro.
