Pres, San Juan North look to stay perfect

Defending champion, Presentation College of San Fernando and San Juan North Secondary will be hoping to maintain their respective 100 per cent winning records to start the season when Round Four of the 2018 Shell/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Premier Division takes place from 3.40 pm today.

Presentation currently sits at the top of the 15-team with maximum nine points from three matches, two ahead of former two-time winners and fellow southerners Naparima College, and St Augustine Secondary, while San Juan North Secondary and Trinity College Moka have six points each.

However, San Juan North has only played two matches.

Today, the Shawn Cooper-coached Presentation will make the short journey to the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella for a clash with fellow South Zone team, St Benedict’s College, with the latter in the bottom half of the table with a mere two points from three matches.

San Juan North under the guidance of coach Gerry Moe will also be in a zonal derby of its own as its head East to play Trinity College East, sixth with five points at Trinity College East Ground, Trincity.

Naparima and St Augustine will also be eager to stay within touching distance of the top of ever go top of the table when they come up against Fatima College at Lewis Street, and Carapichaima East Secondary, respectively.

In another interesting encounter, coach Nigel Grovesnor and his assistant, former national captain Kenwyne Jones will head back to their old stomping ground at St Anthony’s College, Morne Coco Road, Westmoorings.

Elsewhere, Bishop’s High hosts Trinity College Moka, at Plymouth Recreation Ground; and Valencia will try again for its first points of the season at home to St Mary’s College, yet to win as well after three matches. East Mucurapo Secondary is on a bye.
